LCCB Young Soloists’ Competition

Thank you for your interest in the LCCB Young Soloists’ Competition.

The Young Soloists’ competition is open to all students in Years 5 to 12 aged 18 years or under at the date of entry. Soloists must also be at 6th grade AMEB standard or higher.

Entry is available to the following instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Alto & Tenor Saxophone, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba and Marimba. Other instruments will be considered if appropriate accompanied music can be provided. If you wish to enter with an instrument not listed, please Submit a Question requesting approval for your instrument.

Positive feedback will be provided for all performances, with prizes awarded to all semi-finalists and finalists. The overall final winner will receive $1000 cash prize, with further cash prizes for 2nd and 3rd places.

Soloists will need to choose a piece from the pre-selected Solo Pieces List to perform with the Cameraygal Wind Symphony. Alternatively, soloists may choose their own solo piece as long as it complies with the rules and the soloist can provide the full score and band parts.

The competition is a wonderful opportunity for young soloists to perform in front of an appreciative audience (Semi-final and Final) with the finalists getting the opportunity to perform a solo piece with band accompaniment, provided by the Cameraygal Wind Symphony.
